Getting Started with Copypastia: Share Text and Code in Seconds
Copypastia Team · 28 Apr 2026
New to Copypastia? This quick guide walks you through creating your first paste, sharing it, and getting the most out of your free account.
Whether you need to send a colleague a snippet of code, share a config file, or drop a quick note for yourself across devices, Copypastia is the fastest way to do it. Here's how to get up and running in under five minutes.
Step 1: Create Your First Paste
Head to the dashboard and type (or paste) your content into the main text area. You can paste anything — plain text, code, Markdown, or HTML.
- Plain text is the default and works for notes, logs, and messages.
- Markdown renders with full formatting when someone views the paste publicly.
- HTML is rendered as-is, useful for sharing styled snippets.
Hit Save and your paste is instantly stored in your account.
Step 2: Share It
Every saved paste has a Share button. Click it and choose how you want to share:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Public | Anyone with the link can view it |
| Code-protected | Viewer must enter a passcode you set |
Once you save your share settings, you'll get a short link on the cpia.app domain that you can send to anyone.
Step 3: Manage Your Pastes
Your dashboard keeps all your pastes in one place. From there you can:
- Search across all your content
- Edit any paste and keep a full version history
- Unshare a paste to make it private again
- Delete pastes you no longer need
Step 4: Upgrade When You're Ready
The free plan gives you 100 pastes and 50 public shares — enough to get a feel for the product. When you need more storage, longer retention, or features like burn-after-reading links, upgrading takes one click from the Subscription page.
That's it. No complicated setup, no CLI tools required. Paste, save, share.
